Desert Horizons Communities

  Desert Horizons strives to be the best place for the care of your loved one.  With our great facilities and excellent staff, Desert Horizons offers five distinct services to the developmentally disabled:

• Group Home Care
• Day Program
• Summer Day Program 
• Respite 
• Attendant Care
• Individually Designed Living Arrangements

    Group home care is all inclusive, yet non-medical.  Care includes meal preparation, administration of medications, transportation, recreational activities, habilitation, etc.  Group home care is 24 hours.

The day program is a Monday-Friday service.  Clients are taken care of for up to an 8 hour block of time.  

Summer day program is also a Monday-Friday service.  Clients are taken care of for up to a 4 hour block of time and usually consist of those on summer break from school.  

Respite care is on an "as needed" basis.  Clients are supported at an in home environment in coordination with the guardians of the individual.

    Attendant care provides personal care services for short blocks of time as requested by the guardians of the individual served.  

    Individually Designed Living Arrangements provide for an alternative residential living situation promoting the Division's philosophical base of self-determination.
 

  All care options are aimed at providing personal development, life skills building and recreational activities in a safe, caring environment for the developmentally disabled community.  Activities are both on and off the property.  Every client at Desert Horizons is treated with the utmost respect and care.  We strive to make a positive impression on each person we care for.  The service to our client is our number one priority.
